Metal Qilin

    First of all, please don't get me wrong, I'm not a crazy or satanic person. I'm not serious about the themes and lyrics in extreme metal, but I appreciate the honesty in metal bands, even some of them sound like complain. Good riffs, solos, bits, melodies, rhythms, powerful voice and great energies are what I care about in metal music. I know it's kind of weird and rare that a Chinese woman loves metal so much, but I started to listen to metal when I was so depressed and struggled at my confused ages 16. And metal music helped me a lot.

    I usually went to a music store where sold all kinds of music genes albums close to my home. One day, the shopkeeper played a really heavy song to a customer in the store when I was there. That power sounding music and fast bits made me fell in love with metal for the first time. I asked the shopkeeper what's the band's name? He told me it's MEGADEATH. Therefore, I bought my first metal album YOUTHANASIA. And the earliest metal albums I bought all are piratical CDs. Another day, I went to the music store again, and I asked the shopkeeper for more great metal albums. He suggested me a Florida death metal band Divine Empire. Therefore, I bought their album Redemption. I listened this album so much when I was around 17 to 18 years old. The heavy and fast bits; dark and evil monster screaming were totally blew me away. It made me felt like out of the planet. It released my angers, stresses, depression and bad energies while I was on my confused and lost age. Therefore, I started to learn more about metal genes and metal history. I looked at Chinese metal websites, metal forums to found more great metal bands and listened to all kinds of metal genres from all over the world. When I was 18 years old, I was interested in making websites. So I made DyingLight as a personal metal website, and I putted many stuff related with metal on the website to share with more Chinese people who didn't understand English well. After I admitted in the college in China, I didn't have time to run Dyinglight anymore. instead, I started focusing on my career. I still listen to metal sometimes year by year. Metal heals my mind and my soul when I feel down and lost every time. Metal helped me went through many difficult times and gives me powers to deal with so many obstacles in life.
